It’s that time of year again - Remember to check anti-freeze

With the thermometer heading lower, now is a great time to check your GWS Diesel Vacuum Machine’s antifreeze strength.

The strength of the anti-freeze solution should be checked at least once a year, preferably at the beginning of the cold period. However, it is an advantage to leave the anti-freeze in all the year round as it gives continued protection against corrosion.

For further information on anti-freeze or to speak directly to one of our specialist engineers please contact our friendly team now on; Tel: (01724) 856665 or Email: mail@gwsvacuum.co.uk

GWS Vacuum equipment used to remove resin from an oxazole vessel

It’s always great to see site photos of our kit in action. We were really pleased to receive these last week, showing our 50 Series Diesel Vacuum Machine and Filter Hopper being used to remove resin from an oxazole vessel.

‘Just a few photos of the job that we have completed. We removed 93 drums of resin from the oxazole vessel. Customer very happy that we did it so quickly and safely. Great equipment as usual.’

We always appreciate feedback and photos, if you have any we would love to see them.

GWS welcomes new apprentice to vacuum manufacturing team

We're pleased to welcome Henri to GWS, who is joining our fabrication team.

At GWS, all our vacuum equipment is manufactured in house, to help us achieve the fantastic quality and service we are known for. We believe it is important to pass on skills to the next generation. With a mix of in-house training and study towards a Level 3 apprenticeship, we’re sure Henri will be an asset to the team.

Welcome to the team Henri!

Do you have issues with static when vacuuming?

Written by
Do you have issues with static when vacuuming?

Static electricty is a concern, espically when handling combustible materials such as bio-fuels, coal dust etc.

All our GWS vacuum equipment can be supplied with fully compliant explosion relief for ATEX compliance. The equipment is usually positioned outside (which is unlikely to be DSEAR zoned for dust explosions) and it is only the hose which runs into the zoned area.

As product is vacuumned there is a potential for static electricty to be generated. For use in hazardous Zone 21 or Zone 22 areas, GWS provide users with anti-static PVC vacuum conveying hoses. GWS check the end-to-end resistance of each length of hose and provide a test certificate for each hose assembly.

ATEX compliant GWS vacuum equipment provided to saw mill

ATEX compliant GWS vacuum equipment provided to saw mill

We recently hired some of our vacuum equipment to a saw mill operating from one of Europe’s largest commercial woodland. Dalby Forest in the North East of England spreads to over 8,000 acres situated on the southern slopes of the beautiful North York Moors National Park.

We supplied our ATEX compliant Vacuum Equipment for use with ST1 class combustible dusts, such as saw dust.

Our 50 Series Diesel Vacuum Machine and Filter Hopper were used to deposit their collected saw dust into 1-Ton FIBC Big Bags, so no dust was released on site. The equipment was used to vacuum remove debris from a ventilated drying floor.

Using our powerful vacuum equipment they were able to complete the work in under two days, which minimised their down time and kept hire costs to a minimum.

Drone photography shows GWS from a new angle

It has been fascinating seeing GWS from a new angle, with the river Trent curving around in the background.

We also had the HIAB lorry in loaded up with a new 50 Series Diesel Vacuum machine bound for hire in the North East of England.

From ‘Sunny Scunthorpe’ to Europe via low cost group haulage

From ‘Sunny Scunthorpe’ to Europe via low cost group haulage

Some of our Filter Hoppers and Standard Hoppers set off this morning from ‘Sunny Scunthorpe’ for a job at a European Incinerator.

Our Filter Hoppers are ideal for use with dusty product like ash. Virtually all material is contained in the Hopper and then dispensed into convenient 1-Ton FIBC Big Bags. The Big Bags are tied shut so no dust is released on site, making it cleaner and healthier for operators and the site as a whole.

We’re always impressed with the low transport costs that group hauliers can offer for deliveries to Europe. We hire our Industrial Vacuum Equipment throughout the European Union and low cost transport combined with the weak £ GBP means we can offer very competitive hire rates.
