We have recently introduced a High Discharge Hopper to our range of Catalyst Handling Vacuum Equipment.
Based on our popular Filter Hopper design, the High Discharge Filter Hopper has a 2,440mm discharge height below the valve. The telescopic base allows the discharge height to be raised and lowered to fill a variety of containers, from Flow Bins, CHEP Bins to Big Bags and Drums.
The Hopper’s legs retract to allow easy transportation via lorry, shipping containers etc and it is erected on site via Fork Lift Truck.

The HSE have recently reported that they will be focusing on Occupational Lung Disease (OLD) as one of three key topics as part of its new Health and Work Strategy. HSE’s overall vision is that anyone who goes to work should expect to breathe the same quality of air that they would breathe outside work.
It’s no surprise that the HSE is focusing on ‘OLD’ as currently occupation respiratory disease linked to exposure to chemicals or dust is estimated to result in:
· Approximately 12,000 deaths per year.
· Staggeringly, approximately 18,000 new cases of breathing or lung problems caused or made worse by work each year
· Resulting in an estimated 400,000 working days lost*
How GWS Vacuum equipment can help reduce on site dust
Using Vacuum Equipment is an effective way to collect on site dust. It takes away dust at source, away from on-site staff.
One thing to consider when sourcing vacuuming equipment is the efficiency of the equipment’s filtration system. For example, GWS Filter Hoppers are fitted with a bank of 24m3 silicone impregnated polyester needle felt material, which filters down to 1-10 microns. This large, efficient filter area stops virtually all dust in the Hopper.
Another point to consider is how collected waste is contained. At GWS we have increasingly found that end-clients want waste to be fully contained to cut down on site dust. This has led to an increase in popularity of filling sealed 1-Ton FIBC ‘Big Bags’. Filled bags can then be tied shut and set to one side for disposal or re-use.
